Introduction to the Adventure
Come to explore Rainbow Mountain with Lama Glama Travel. We will start super early, between 4:00 and 5:00 A.M., with hotel pickup in Cusco’s historic center. The drive takes us through beautiful valleys, small villages, and high-altitude terrain, getting us ready for the amazing views of Rainbow Mountain.
The hike kicks off at Phulawasipata, 4,300 meters above sea level. We will walk along trails surrounded by Andean peaks, spotting local plants, llamas, and cool rock formations. Our guide will share fun stories about the history, culture, and nature of the area.
At the top, we can check out the colorful stripes of the mountain and the awesome views of the Ausangate range. There will be plenty of time for photos, fresh mountain air, and just soaking it all in.
In the afternoon, we will hike back to the trailhead, get in the vehicle, and return to Cusco. This finishes a full day of adventure at one of Peru’s most famous spots.

Cusco – Cusipata – Phulawasipata – Rainbow Mountain
We will start early, between 4:00 and 5:00 A.M., with hotel pickup in Cusco’s historic center. From there, we will take private transport to Cusipata, stop for breakfast, and get ready for the hike. Our guide will give us safety tips and advice for the trail.
The hike begins at Phulawasipata, 4,300 meters above sea level. We will follow trails through mountains, hills, and colorful rock formations. Along the way, we might see llamas, alpacas, and native plants while enjoying the stunning scenery.
When we reach the top of Montaña de Colores, we can take in the incredible views of the Andes. There will be plenty of time to explore viewpoints, snap photos, and admire the Ausangate mountain range. The vibrant colors of the mountain make it a perfect spot for unforgettable pictures.
After soaking in the summit, we will carefully hike back down to the trailhead. Then we will return to our transport and drive back to Cusco, reflecting on a full day of adventure, high-altitude trekking, and amazing landscapes.
