We will start the South Valley Tour Cusco with a hotel pickup between 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. in Cusco’s Historic Center. We will drive through southern Cusco, passing small villages, farmland, and rolling hills while enjoying the scenery and learning about the local culture and history.
Our first stop is Tipón, an Inca hydraulic complex. We will walk among terraces, canals, and water channels that show the Incas’ smart farming techniques. It is a great spot for photos and to see how advanced their engineering was.
Next, we will visit Pikillacta, a pre-Inca Wari settlement. We will explore plazas, ceremonial areas, and old houses while our guide explains how the Wari influenced the Incas and what life was like back then.
Then we will head to Andahuaylillas, also called the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes.” We will admire its murals, gilded altars, and historic artwork, learning about the mix of Spanish and Inca styles.
